PAL Catalog Check is a read-only Shopify catalog-readiness scanner. It reviews catalog fields and highlights issues that can make product-feed preparation harder. It does not edit products or guarantee approval by Google Merchant Center or any other sales channel.
The current scan reviews product titles, vendor/brand presence, Online Store URLs, images, image dimensions when Shopify provides them, variant identifiers, variant prices, and duplicate variant-option combinations.
Free scans check up to 2,500 products, up to 100 variants per product, and up to 20 images per product.
The current Pro bounded-scan design supports up to 10,000 products, up to 250 variants per product, and up to 100 images per product. The embedded app warns when a boundary is reached so merchants do not mistake a partial scan for a complete one.
Pro capability is designed to add automatic recurring scans, saved history, change detection, readiness-drop alerts, January 31, 2027 image-readiness monitoring, larger scan limits, remediation/history CSV exports, and scheduled report snapshots. Shopify App Pricing is used for merchant billing when paid plans are activated.
The app requests only Shopify's read_products scope for its catalog-readiness and monitoring features. It does not request customer or order data and it does not write to products or variants.
Free scans are not added to a saved scan-history database. When Pro monitoring is active, PAL stores bounded scan-result snapshots, monitoring preferences, alerts, and report summaries so recurring monitoring and history can work. That saved shop data is removed when uninstall or Shopify shop-redaction processing is completed.
First reopen the app from Shopify Admin → Apps. If the embedded app still shows an application error, record the approximate time and the visible error message. Do not include access tokens, passwords, recovery codes, or customer information.
Include the issue code, the affected product title, and what field you expected the app to read. Avoid posting confidential catalog exports or credentials. The scan is intentionally conservative and does not invent product identifiers.

You can remove the app from Shopify Admin through the store's app settings. PAL processes uninstall and Shopify shop-redaction events to remove persisted installation sessions and saved Pro monitoring data for that shop.
