A missing Shopify product can be caused by catalog data, publication/channel settings, feed mapping, Google processing or account-level issues. Start by proving the catalog-side basics instead of changing everything at once.

| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Product title and vendor/brand | Missing or weak product identity can create downstream data-quality problems. |
| Product URL | A usable product destination is part of a healthy catalog/feed path. |
| Images | Missing or undersized images can create readiness issues even when other fields are valid. |
| Price | Non-positive or inconsistent prices deserve investigation before blaming sync. |
| Variant identifiers | Confirm the exact affected variants have the identifiers you expect; never invent GTINs or MPNs. |
| Variant structure | Duplicate option combinations can make catalog interpretation ambiguous. |
Move downstream. Check whether the product is eligible for the intended sales channel, whether the Google/YouTube or feed app is sending the expected variant, whether a supplemental feed or rule is overriding data, and whether Merchant Center is still processing or rejecting the item.
PAL’s boundary: PAL Catalog Check inspects Shopify catalog readiness. It does not connect to Merchant Center and cannot prove why Google omitted a product.
It gives you a bounded read-only snapshot of the Shopify-side problems PAL knows how to detect. If PAL finds catalog issues, fix and rescan. If it finds none, you have stronger evidence to focus on the feed, sync or Merchant Center side instead.
Google Merchant Center evaluates factors outside a Shopify catalog scan, including feed processing and account/policy conditions. A clean PAL scan does not guarantee approval or visibility.
PAL Catalog Check is read-only and does not edit products or variants.
